Do you believe in this idea? —You fight for what you love.

Personally, I do. I cannot think of a single instance in which I wouldn’t fight for something, or someone, I love. Maybe I am simply a deeply passionate person (which I know to be true of myself) but I think it really is just a universal reality.

Hey, even narcissists fight for what they love…even if that thing is themselves.

For me, this is why I cannot seem to stop writing about the church, the way we have strayed from the point, and how much revival is needed.

It is not my motivation or intent to tear her down—I love her.

It is not my intent to dim her light—I love her.

It is not my intent to hinder her witness—I love her.

It is not my intent to see people leave her walls—I love her.

It is not my intent to watch her mocked in the marketplace—I love her.

But, it is this very reason—love, that I so passionately proclaim all the ways we (the Christians that make up the church), have done her wrong.

It is for love, that I fight against the sin that perverts the leadership, the lies that dim her light, and the deception that keeps her people in bondage.

I am passionate.

I am passionate because I desire to see her free and true to the design Christ commissioned for her.

I desire to see her radically change lives and, by effect, the whole world.

As someone who was once under the perversion, darkness, and deception that corrupts the church, (and is now free) I long to be a voice to help rid her of these obstacles to her mission.

So if you love her too and you long to see her shining in beauty and prepared for the bridegroom… I hope you’ll stick around, keep reading, listen to the podcast and engage with me.

Because, the church really is so beautiful—in her truest form.

The church can be a beacon on a hill for those who need safety.

The church can be a place where you are fully seen, fully known, and fully accepted.

The church can be where you find healing—a deep soul healing.

The church can be where you find the kind of friendships that feel like family—feel like home.

The church can support you and come to your aid when no one else cares.

The church can be the hands and feet of the Savior when all you needed was a hug from the Father.

The church can be a lifeline for those who need hope for the deep valley they travel through.

The church can be a wise mentor for the young person feeling tossed by the tsunami of culture.

The church can be where you find a life so full of purpose it astounds you.

The church can be a strong defender of life—in every stage.

The church can bring someone from poverty and devastation to hope and restoration.

The church can bring someone from the brink of the abyss to the warmth of the fold.

She is all this and so much more.

I do love the church, and that, that reason alone, is why I fight for her.

Many today, fight the giants without her walls—I fight the ones within. Both battles are important, but what matters most, is that we fight for her.

Till the Bridegroom returns—may she be true.
